Goal Setting and How to Achieve it

Today, I want to discuss the importance of goal setting for the new year and how you can achieve it!

++ Goal Setting ++

I once heard a quote from a very wise old man....
"No battle was ever won according to plan, but no battle was ever won without a plan." -Wise Old Man

Goal setting is a powerful process of basically "getting what you want". But there is more to it than just saying "I plan to make '$1,000,000 this year". If only it was as simple as that. It does take careful step by step planning. You need strategies to achieve your goal.

So, where do I start?

Choose ONE main goal-

"Make '$1,000,000 in 2007!"

then break it down into sub-goals-

"Make '$500,000 in 6 months"

and break it down even further-

"Make '$70,000 a month"

and further again-
"Make '$20,000 a week"

Sounding more achievable? I thought so...

Of course this is just one example and there are several more steps involved. ie. what you're going to sell and how many you need to sell etc.

Achieving your main goal consists of achieving a lot of mini-goals along the way. Like this example. Nothing is impossible and the only thing that can stop you is you!

++Tips to help you keeping focussed++

** Keep your goal to yourself. You have no obligatio'n to share your private goal with anyone. Not even your closest frien'd, spouse or family member. It can open the door for ridicule and negative comments and that is will severely destroy your hopes and dreams.

** Review your goal regularly. Daily if you can. If you're really serious about achieving your goal, you must keep it in the back of your mind and make it the basis for your daily activities.

** Record your goal. Write it down. Keep it in an envelope in a safe place. Record it onto a tape or onto your computer. Listen to it regularly. Having your goal in writing or a finished physical product (something you can touch or hear, not just in your hea'd) is like your goal has alrea'dy started to come true. A very important step you must not skip!

I have a complete Goal Setting worksheet Kit to help you set a specific goal and help you draw out the strategies needed in order to achieve it. These are printable worksheets so print them out and spend a little while setting your goal!

After setting and starting your goal, you're half way there, the other half is following the steps to
achieving it.

To your success in 2007,

Stuart Stirling
